MELISSA RAY

M.S. Student | Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management

Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Melissa spent several years farming in Maui and managing an urban gardening business in New York before beginning her MS at UGA's Warnell School in 2016. She currently serves as the Graduate Assistant to the UGA Sustainability Certificate and is pursuing research on the assessment of sustainability literacy and the efficacy of sustainability education programs.  Her interests include Native American ethnobotany and medicinal herbs, sustainable farming, and native plant conservation.  With bachelors degrees in environmental science and anthropology, Melissa hopes to bring the link between people and planet into new light for her students.
